Applicability

This is a model that predicts stickers in a coke oven cycle. Based on the AI models, we predict the tendency to stick, warning the responsible in advance and avoiding human and operational damage (cooking), the washing and delignification of the pulp (washing) and the bleaching of the pulp (bleaching).

PROCESS

The coking process consists IN A subjecting mixture of coals to distillation in ovens with high temperatures and the absence of oxygen, giving rise to volatile products. Coal is heated in vertical kilns indirectly through side walls made of refractory bricks. Between the walls of the ovens are located the combustion chambers that keep the walls at a temperature in the order of 1100 to 1300 ºC. After a few hours, the coal is turned into coke. The coke is removed, cooled and transported to the blast furnace silos, for the continuation of the steel production process.

PROBLEM

One of the critical problems that can occur in this process, is the cage inside the ovens, which is the condition in which the plunger cannot push the coke out of the oven, leading to the compression of the coke on the walls, deforming them and harming the process of release.
